Winner! Carolinae at Lingfield 28th February 2017

WINNER! By some miracle CAROLINAE made it to Lingfield Park Racecourse and won, after spending seven hours on the M11. Well done NRT, Will Snaith and the officials at Lingfield who allowed her to take place! 16k for a racecourse gallop, not too shabby! Kempton Park - The Sad Truth

It has been a while since I have written a blog, for that I can only apologise!   2017 is well under way and we have already welcomed home a couple of winners with CAROLINAE and TWIN POINT. CAROLINAE was a particularly satisfactory winner for the team, with her previous visit to Wolverhampton leaving a bad taste in all our mouths after she was knocked sideways by the eventual winner. Anyway, revenge was sweet and we’ve now set our sights firmly on Good Friday and a tilt at the fillies and mares race at Lingfield.   TWIN POINT has been a super star since joining our yard and has quickly dev...

Two Winners in Two Days

2017 has officially begun at St Gatien with CAROLINAE winning yesterday at Wolverhampton and TWIN POINT at Kempton this afternoon.   Carolinae was purchased for £8,000 and has won over £35,000 in prize money to date & TWIN POINT often provides Fred & Sally Perry with a glass of bubbly at the track!   Congratulations to all connections!   Charlie Fellowes is a Racehorse Trainer based in Newmarket, Suffolk Follow him on Twitter @fellowesracing Instagram: @Charliefellowesracing Facebook: FellowesRacing

A Third Season from St Gatien

It is quite incredible to think that the 2016 turf season has already finished. It honestly feels like yesterday, when ACCESSION was lining up at the Craven Meeting. Seven months on and things have started to quieten down, as we have fewer and fewer runners, giving me time to reflect on a phenomenal third season.   At the start of the year, privately, I gave myself two targets to achieve. The first was to break through the twenty winner mark. The second was to train a black type winner. Well, we managed to do both of these! We are currently sitting on twenty-four winners (including Moonlit Sh...

Our first Listed Winner In Moonlit Show

After several placed efforts in stakes races, I'm delighted to report that St Gatien Stables finally celebrated our first black type winner! MOONLIT SHOW (SHOWCASING EX SHONA) won the Blenheim Stakes at Fairyhouse in impressive fashion this week. Given a beautiful ride by local jockey Billy Lee MOONLIT SHOW was sent straight to the front from the gates and never saw another rival as she won eased down by two lengths. She is a filly we have always liked a lot and clearly thrived on these softer underfoot conditions. It is so exciting for a small yard like ours to have such a talented filly and ...

Another Two Year Old Winner For The Yard

One record I have been incredibly proud of throughout the early stages of my career, is the perfromances of our two year olds - 2016 has been no exception, and of the five two year olds we have run this year, four have won maidens. Peter O' Callagahn's MOONLIT SHOW added her name to that list last Friday when running out a very cosy winner of a sux furlong maiden at Haydock. She is a filly I have always liked and one I hope will pick up some black type with, she might head to Ayr next weekend for the group three Firth of Clyde stakes. Otherwise it was a very quiet week however things hot up ov...

Mia Tesoro Strikes Again - Becoming our 20th Winner of 2016!

Yesterday at Bath we celebrated our 20th winner of the year as MIA TESORO won for the fourth time in a row under a fantastic ride from Shayne Kelly. MIA TESORO’S progress this year has been nothing short of remarkable and judging on yesterday’s win she may still not be finished. Coming up we’ve got some more interesting runners with yard favourite BUCKLAND BEAU returning to the all-weather at Chelmsford this evening, where we are hoping to put two efforts below par on the turf behind him. Jamie Spencer takes the ride on a horse that is perfectly suited to his riding style.   Tomorrow MO...

Hajaj Continues the Winning Streak

The yard celebrated another two year old winner on Sunday as HAJAJ took the valuable seven furlong maiden at Chelmsford City Racecourse. Having only made his debut last Friday at Newmarket he was particularly green that day and I was keen to run him again quickly while it was all fresh in his memory. Given a beautiful ride by Stevie Donohoe he hit the front a furlong from home and never looked like getting caught. There are no immediate plans for this well bred son of DARK ANGEL but he will make a lovely three year old and stay further in time. Elsewhere CAROLINAE was slightly disappointing on...

Winners and Runners - Latest News

We celebrated winner number 16 when CAROLINAE won impressively at Yarmouth last Wednesday, given a confident ride by Stevie Donohoe, CAROLINAE hit the front too far out as nothing was able to take her further into the race – she then won under the minimum of pressure to confirm the suggestion that she is a filly going places. There are no immediate plans with her but the soft ground, which suits her far better, should come along as the seasons change.   Other highlights of last week included another phenomenal performance from the ever young ACCESSION, to finish second in a class two handic...

Unfinished Business at the Shergar Cup

Last week ended in encouraging fashion when CHIEFOFCHIEFS fulfilled the promise he has been showing on the gallops by producing a fantastic run, finishing third on debut at Newmarket. It looks like he is going to be one to look forward to for the rest of the year.   This week we have got runners on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday with CAROLINAE opening up proceedings at Yarmouth on Wednesday. I pulled her out because of quick ground last week and once again this could be a concern, however if I do decide it is safe enough for her to line up then she is definitely one to watch as I be...
